Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, is not under consideration by another journal, and will not be submitted elsewhere before the Editor-in-Chief makes a final decision.
  • Full Names and Surnames of all authors (initials capitalized), with their full affiliations (University, Faculty, Department, Town, Country), ORCID, and email address corresponding to the stated affiliation, are provided.
  • All authors agree that BMS may retain their personal data (names, affiliations, emails) for publishing and archiving, in line with the BMS Privacy Statement, and that such data will not be shared with third parties without their consent prior to publication.
  • If the manuscript has multiple authors, the corresponding author is clearly indicated, with a professional email address matching the stated institutional affiliation.
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word format, in English, and must follow the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Guide for Authors.
  • Figures and tables are placed within the manuscript text at appropriate points. Figures are provided with high-resolution. Tables are provided as editable files (Word or Excel), not as image files.
  • If the manuscript results from research funded by state or international institutions, a separate Acknowledgments section must include the full project title, project ID number, and full name of the funding institution(s). If no funding was received, this must be stated explicitly.
  • References are written in a separate section at the end of the paper in line with Guide for Authors. Where available, DOI number/URLs for the references has to be provided.
  • The manuscript is structured according to the journal’s requirements and includes:
    Title page, Introduction, Materials & Methods, Results & Discussion, Conclusions, CRediT Authorship
    contribution statement, Declaration of competing interest, Acknowledgments, and References.
  • All co-authors have been informed of the submission and have given their consent.

Submission platform

Our online submission platform guides you stepwise through the submission and review processes. The authors and reviewers should register first, then log in and finally submit their manuscript or review. All correspondence, including Editor´s decision regarding required reviews and acceptance or rejection of manuscripts, takes place via e-mail.  

 

Required Submission Components

To be considered for review, every new submission must be in line with the following:

–        A manuscript prepared in accordance with the Guide for authors;

–        A completed and signed Submission Checklist;

–        Accurate and complete metadata must be entered during the online submission process, with special attention to full and correct author details (University, Faculty, Department, Town, County).

Please ensure all components are submitted as instructed to avoid unnecessary delays in the editorial process.
